Acupuncture (TCM)
Acupuncture is a unique therapeutic method involving the insertion of extremely thin steel acupuncture needles into acupoints along Traditional Chinese Medicine's meridians pathways, to prevent and treat a variety of ailments. Treatment with our Registered Acupuncturist may also include acupressure, Tuina massage, tool-assisted Gua Sha soft-tissue release, and cupping. Treatment without the use of needles is optional. Alexander Technique
The Alexander Technique is an educational process that teaches the student how to deal with unwanted and unnecessary tension producing habits that lead to misuse of the body. These habits are often the cause of ailments such as excess tension in the neck and shoulders, headaches, back and neck pain, postural issues, vocal problems and repetitive strain injuries. The Technique is taught one to one as each person requires individual attention in this process. Alexander Technique is a unique and personal study of movement and dynamic posture, not a healthcare treatment. It allows the individual to identify and understand their movement patterns , improve coordination, reduce patterns of excess tension, free up breathing, and develop deeper kinesthetic awareness. Alexander Technique is well known to be utilized by performers of all types, from public speakers, to athletes and actors looking to find more ease, confidence and self-awareness of their movements.

Certified Athletic Therapists (AT) are experts at assessment and rehabilitation using the Sport Medicine Model of care. Chiropractic Treatment
Evidence-informed and patient-centered treatment by a Chiropractic Doctor may include soft-tissue treatment, Active Release Therapy, joint mobilizations & manipulations, nerve stimulation, and remedial exercise to treat musculoskeletal injuries & dysfunction.
Cupping Therapy
Cupping Therapy uses glass or silicon cups and vacuum pressure to apply varying levels of suction to specific points on the body. When performed by an RMT as part of a massage session, Cupping Therapy is often referred to as Tissue Distraction Release, using shear force (instead of compression) to release trigger points. Physiotherapist uses cupping as soft-tissue therapy and pain relief within the context of an overall rehabilitative care plan. When Cupping Therapy is performed by a Registered Acupuncturist, cups may be placed along meridian lines or Acu points to stimulate Qi and blood flow in accordance with Traditional Chinese Medicine practice. All styles of cupping are used to distract congested tissues, targeting adhesion and restrictions, increasing local circulation and reducing pain. Cupping is billed as treatment under the individual practitioner's main registration (RMT, Physio, or ACU).
Custom Orthotics
Custom orthotics are made to measure with state-of-the-art 3D digital scanning.

Osteopathic Manual Therapy
Osteopaths are functional anatomists who use manual therapy and gentle manipulations to restore proper body mechanics, nerve impulses and the circulation of cardiovascular, digestive, lymphatic and spinal cord fluids. Classical osteopathy considers both soft tissue (fascia, muscles, tendons) and hard tissues (bones, ligaments), while also paying attention to the nerves, arteries, veins and lymphatics in the area, and also has consideration for what is happening on the visceral level. With a knowledge of anatomy and biomechanics, osteopaths use just their hands to figure out what isn't functioning normally, and then use gentle manipulations to get the body back into alignment so that it can self heal and regulate.
**Direct billing is offered on most major plans, but not currently available to RWAM, or Canada (Great West) Life.**
Physiotherapy
Physiotherapists have mastered the mechanics of movement under the Sports Medicine model of care -- they focus on both prevention and rehabilitation of injury, using functional rehabilitation to improve alignment, stability, mobility, and strength. Physiotherapists remedy dysfunctional patterns of movement and posture that affect the body's ability to withstand resistance. Physiotherapy is a great option for chronic pain, repetitive strain, sports injuries, accident rehabilitation, healthy aging, and athletic performance and is eligible for direct billing on most major benefits plans.
Reflexology (RMT)
Reflexology is a natural therapeutic technique that applies manual pressure on reflex points in the body, based on their map within the body to other areas and tissues, including the glands and organs.
